Nendra Pazham is one which is found only in Kerala and is also called
as Kerala Banana. We make this Pachadi out of that and is quite tasty.
You can also try out and serve as a side dish with plain rice and other
side dishes, mainly for a Sadya .
Ingredients needed for Nendrapazha Pachadi
1 kilo nendra pazham
1 coconut
2 packet curds
50 gram green chillies
2 tsp mustard seeds
50 gram red chillies
2-3 stalk curry leaves
Coconut oil as needed ( about 2 tbsp)
How to prepare Nendrapazha Pachadi?
Slit the pazham in to two and the cut into 1/2 inch small pieces
Slit green chillies and keep aside
Grind freshly grated coconut into a coarse paste.
Heat oil, fry the green chillies.
Add the pazham / banana pieces and keep aside.
Mix the ground coconut paste and curd together and.then add the mix with the fruit pieces
Add salt to tatste
Heat coconut oil a fry pan, splutter mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves.
Pour over the pachadi.
Serve as a side dish for Vishu Sadya or Ona Sadya.
