Ingredients needed for Vazhakka Bhajji
1/2 cup besan
1/4 cup rice flour
1 raw banana
2 pinches asafoetida
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
oil for deep frying
How to prepare Vazhakka Bhajji?
Mix besan, rice flour, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt to taste with enough water to prepare a smooth batter.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
Cut banana crosswise in to two pieces and then lengthwise in to thick slices.
Dip them in the batter and deep fry them in hot oil till they get a golden colour. Drain.
Serve with tomato sauce / coconut chutney.
