Ingredients needed for Murungai keerai Poriyal
1 cup ful Drumstick Leaves
1/2 cup small onions chopped
2 garlic finely chopped
3 red chilles broken in to bits
1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
2 tsps oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds,
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp split urad dal.
How to prepare Drumstick leaves poriyal?
Heat oil in a fry pan, splutter mustard and cumin seeds.
Then add the urad dal and the broken red chillies.
When the chillies turn brown, add chopped garlic and small onions.
When the onions turn golden, add the washed drumstick leaves, a pinch of turmeric powder and salt to taste.
cook till the leaves are soft. Add water only if needed. Add grated fresh coconut and mix well.
Serve with rice and sambar.
