Beef Vindaloo, a Goan curry recipe


Ingredients needed for Beef Vindaloo
1 kilo Beef, cut into small cubes
1 piece cinnamon,
5 cloves,
3 cardamom,
1tsp saunf,
1 tsp mustard seeds,
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
1  tsp pepper,
1 tsp cuminseeds
10 garlic flakes
10 small onions
2 tbsps chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp vinegar
4 tbsps coconut oil
2 onions sliced fine
2 onions minced fine
2 tbsps Tomato Sauce
1 tbsp Sugar

How to prepare Beef Vindaloo?
Wash and clean the meat, cut into pieces and keep aside.
Roast all the whole garam masala ingredients together, namely, 1 piece cinnamon, 5 cloves, 3 cardamom, 1 tsp saunf, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp fenugreek seeds 1  tsp pepper, 1 tsp cumin seeds and powder in a mixer.
Now add chilli powder, turmeric powder, garlic and small onions to the powdered masala and grind together with a little water to prepare a smooth paste.
Heat oil, fry the sliced onions to a golden colour . Drain and remove. Keep aside.
In the remaining oil, add the minced onions, fry till they are brown.
Add ground masala paste to the fry pan and mix well.
Saute till the oil starts oozing out on the sides. Add the meat pieces , salt to taste and just enough water to cook the meat till tender.
Once the meat gets tender and fully cooked, remove from fire, add to tomato sauce and sugar.
Serve hot.
