Dal dhaba style


Ingredients needed for Dal dhaba style
1/2 cup split urad dal
1/4 cup channadal
2 tsp ginger crushed
2tsp garlic crushed
1/2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp ghee
1 onion finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
2 -3 green chillies slit
1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp cumin seed powder
salt to taste

How to prepare Dal dhaba style?
Soak the dals for an hour. Add enough to cook the dals in a thick bottommed vessel and add the dals, half a teaspoon gingerone tsp of garlic, salt to taste, turmeric powder and butter. Cover and cookon a low flame till lentils are soft and done.
Heat ghee in a fry pan, add cumin seeds and splutter.
Addsliced onions and fry till they are golden.
Add the remaining ginger, garlic and fry for a minute or two.
Stir in the green chillies, tomato, chilli powder and chopped coriander leaves.
Cookfor 3-4 minutes.
Pour over the cooked dal and mix well.
Cover and Simmer for a minute or two.
Serve hot with rotis and rice.
