Daliya / Wheat Rava Uppuma


Ingredients needed for Wheat Rava Uppuma
1 cup broken wheat ( Samba Rava )
2 tbsp oil
A pinch asafoetida
1 tsp turmeric
¼  tsp mustard seeds
¼  tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp chopped green chilies
2 tsp chopped ginger
¼  cup green peas
¼ cup chopped carrots
Salt to taste
½ tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp grated coconut
6 curry leaves

How to prepare wheat rava uppuma?
Dry roast the broken wheat in a pan on low flame for 3 minutes or till it turns light brown. Remove and keep aside.
Now heat the oil in a pressure cooker, add asafoetida, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, green chillies and ginger, mix well and saute till the green chillies turn shade.
Add the green peas, carrots and stir fry for a minute or two.
Add the roasted broken wheat and mix well.
Add water and salt to taste, mix well with the help of a spatula.
Let the pressure cooker give two to three whistles.
After whistles are done remove the pressure cooker from the flame, open the lid and add lemon juice and mix gently with the help of a spatula.
Serve hot Daliya Uppuma garnished with coriander and grated coconut.
