Chettinad fish fry


Ingredients needed for Chettinad fish fry 
1 kilo fish
8 tsps chilli powder
10 tsps coriander powder
2 tsps turmeric powder
juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp peppercorns
3 red chillies
1 tsp mustard
3 tsps channa dal
3 tsps urad dal
handful curry leaves
salt to taste
Oil  for frying

How to prepare Chettinad fish fry?
Clean and wash the fish pieces. drain and pat them dry.
Make a paste of chilli powder, dhania powder, turmeric powder, salt to taste  and the lime juice . Sprinkle a little water if necessary.
Apply the masala paste all over the fish piecs, keep aside for at least an hour.
heat a pan and dry roast pepper, red chillies,mustard seeds, channa dal, Urad dal and the curry leaves  till they are golden. Remove and let cool. Grind to a powder and spread it out in a plate.
Heat oil in a fry pan. Take a fish slice , roll it on the masala powder and the fry till it gets golden on both sides.
Remember to keep the pan on a simmer flame. There is a chance of the masala getting burnt if the flame is on high or medium.
Chettinad fish fry is ready to serve. Garnish with sliced onions and tomatoes.
