Pacha Sambar, without coconut


Ingredients needed for Pacha Sambar
5 tsps coconut oil
2 fenugreek leaves
3 green chillies
120 grams Tuar Dal
1 cup onion cubed
1 cup potatoes cubed
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
few curry leaves
1 red chilli
juice of one lime
2 tsps coriander leaves chopped

How to prepare Pacha Sambar ?
In the pressure pan add tuardal, potatoes, onions, turmeric powder and salt to taste . Cook for a whistle and then simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove, let cool and then open the cooker.
Heat a little oilin a fry pan, saute slit green chillies and the fenugreek leaves.
Add them to the dal mix. Stir well and simmer till the potatoes are done.
Now heat the remaining oil, splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves and the broken red chilli.
Saute till the chilli starts turning colour pour over the curry in the cooker.
Add lime juice  and mix well. Garnish with hot rice and a veg / non veg side dish.
