Caramel custard is one of the easiest dessert recipes that can be made at home. You just have to use the ingredients, you always will have, at home with you, in your kitchen.
Ingredients needed for Caramel Custard
1/2 litre milk
2 tsps powdered sugar
2 tbsps sugar for caramelizing
1 tsp Custard powder ( Vanilla Flavour ) ( optional )
How to prepare the Caramel Custard?
Heat 2 tablespoons of sugar in a saucepan. Stir continuously till it starts changing colour.
Remove from fire, stir a little more . Keep aside to cool.
In the meantime, beat the eggs well with powdered sugar. Add milk and blend it nicely.
If you are using custard powder, mix it nicely with 2 tsps of milk and blend it in with the milk and egg mixture.
Now pour the caramel in another dish, then pour the milk egg mixture on top of the caramel. You can steam the mixture in a steamer or pressure cooker without weight for about 15 minutes.
Check it out if the custard is set by inserting a knife through it after about 10 minutes. If the knife comes out clean, the custard is ready.
Keep in the refrigerator to chill. Serve chilled
