Fish curry with coconut gravy


Ingredients needed for Fish Curry with Coconut Gravy
500 grams Fish, cut into medium pieces
1 tsp Mustard seeds
2 tbsps chopped Small onion
1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds
1 1/2 tsps red chilli powder
1 1/2 tsps Kashmiri chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
3 tsps coriander powder
3 tsps ginger garlic paste
3 pieces Cocum (kudampuli)
few curry leaves
2 cups water
1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
3 tbsps coconut Oil
Salt to taste

How to prepare Fish in coconut gravy?
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
Add curry leaves, chopped small onion and fenugreek seeds.
When onion becomes soft add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute or two.
Mix red chilli, kashmiri chilli, turmeric and coriander powders together with little water and prepare a thick paste . Add the paste to the pan and cook for a few minutes or till the oil starts coming out.
Add water and cocum to the pan and mix well.
Once it starts boiling add fish pieces and mix gently.
Grind coconut into a fine smooth paste by adding little water.
Add the ground coconut patste to the pan and gently mix it by swirling the pan.
Keep the pan covered and cook in low flame till oil starts appearing on the top. Once in a while swirl the pan to mix the contents.
It will take approx 10-15 min for the fish to be cooked and gravy thick.
Pour 2 tbsps of coconut oil on the top of the gravy and keep the pan covered till it is time to serve.
Serve hot with rice
