Beef Curry another version kerala style

Ingredients Needed for the Beef Curry
1/2 kilo Beef
1 cup chopped onions
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsps red chilli powder
1 1/2 tsps coriander powder
Salt to taste
2 cinnamon
4 cloves
1 tsp peppercorns
2 tsps Saunf
6-8 garlic flakes
1/2 "piece ginger
2 tbsp coconut oil
Curry leaves handful

How to prepare the beef for the curry?
Cut the beef ( young beef preferable ) into small pieces. Clean and wash nicely. Drain.
Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, crushed garam masala ( saunf, cinnamon, cloves and pepper )and grushed ginger and garlic together. Mix well and keep aside for an hour.

How to prepare the Curry?
Heat a thick bottommed pan or a pressure pan.Add coconut oil, fry the curry leaves and chopped onions.
Once the onions get golden coloured add the marinated beef pieces.
Mix well so that the masalas and onions blend nicely. Add one cup of water and pressure cook for 15 - 20 minutes.
Put off the fire and leave the pressure cooker till it cools down to room temperature.
Open the cooker and add a little more water.
Simmer till the gravy blends well and comes to the right consistency.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves . Your Nadan Beef curry is ready to serve.

Points to Note
If you are using a thick bottommed pan or a "Manchatti " (a clay pan) in place of pressure cooker, add more water as needed to get the beef tender. But cover with a lid for the meat to get tender.
If you are using a pressure cooker bring the cooker to the first whistle and then simmer for 20 minutes. Only then the meat will get tender.
