Rava Uppumavu


Ingredients needed for Rava Uppumavu
2 cups Rava
1/2 cup oil
1/2 tsp mustard
1 tsp Urad Dal
2 tbsp Cashew nuts broken in to small bits
1 cup onions chopped finely
1 tsp ginger chopped
1 1/2 tbsp green chillies cut into rounds
handful curry leaves
6 cups hot water
Salt to taste
1 1/2 tbsp lime juice
Coriander leaves forgarnishing

How to prepare Rava Uppumavu?
Heat oil in a fry pan and splutter mustard.
Add Urad dal and fry till it gets golden. Then add cashewnuts.
As the cashew nuts starts to change colour, add chopped onions, green chillies and ginger.
As the onions get golden add the curry leaves.
Now mix in the Rava and fry till it turns golden.Add salt to taste and the hot water.Mix well.
Let the mix starts boiling,then simmer and let it cook till it thickens.
Now add the coriander leaves and remove from fire. Cover and keep aside .
