Pavaikka Varuval


Ingredients needed for Pavaikka Varuval
2 cups thinly sliced in to rounds of Pavaikka / Bitter gourd
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp tamarind pulp
a pinch of Asafoetida
oil needed for deep frying

How to prepare Pavaikka Varuval?
Mix Chilli Powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida powder, salt to taste and tamarind pulp together. Keep aside.
Clean and wash the pavaikka rounds nicely.
Apply the chilli powder mix all over the pavaikka. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
Heat oil needed for deep frying in a pan.
Fry the Pavaikka pieces to a golden colour, drain and serve hot.
