Koorka Chemmeen Curry


Ingredients needed for Koorka Chemmeen Curry
1 cup Koorka chopped in to small pieces
1 cup prawns cleaned and deveined
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
3 green chillies slit
1/2 tsp chilli powder
Salt to taste
1 cup fresh grated coconut
2 tsps oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
3 small onions finely chopped
 few curry leaves

How to prepare Koorka Chemmeen Curry?
In a vessel put in the koorka, slit green chillies, chilli powder, turmeric powder  and salt to taste with enough water to cook the koorka tender.
Add the cleaned prawns to this and cook till the prawns turn soft, for about 2 minutes.
Grind the grated coconut to a fine paste and add to the curry. Check for salt and add a little more if needed.
Let it the gravy come to boil, simmer for a minute.
Heat oil in a fry pan, splutter mustard seeds. Add broken red chillies and curry leaves.
Pour over the curry and serve with hot plain rice.
