Kanni Manga Achar / Salted Mango Pickle


Ingredients needed for Kanni Manga Achar
10 small mangoes/ kanni manga in brine
3 tbsps of salted water / brine
4 tsps red chilli powder
4 tsps mustard seeds
3 tbsps Gingelly oil / til oil
1 tsp asafoetida powder

How to prepare Kanni Manga Achar?
Remove  kanni Manga from the brine and keep aside.
Now add the chilli powder in to 3 tbsps brine and grind it to a paste in a mixie.
Boil a cup of water separately and let cool.
Mix the chilli paste with this boiled and cooled water.
Add the small salted mangoes to this and keep aside.
Roast mustard seeds without oil and powder in a mixie.
Now heat oil, add asafoetida powder, stir for a second. Don't let it burn and get dark.
Add the mustard powder and mix well.
Now add the mango chilli mix  to this and mix well.
Kanni Manga Achar is ready to serve.
