Chettinad Mutton Biriyani


Ingredients needed for Chettinad Mutton biriyani
1/2 kilo Basmati Rice, soaked in water for half an hour
3/4 ths cup coconut milk
250 grams mutton chopped in to small pieces
100 ml ghee
1/4 cup curds
1-2 tomatoes medium
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 onion medium chopped
1/8th cup mint leaves
1/8th cup coriander leaves
a pinch turmeric
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 green chillies slit
Salt to taste

 Grind to a paste
1/4 th cup coconut
1 tsp aniseeds ( saunf)
1 tsp fennel seeds ( moti saunf )
1 tsp poppy seeds
1 green chilli chopped
1 flake garlic
2 tsp small onions chopped

How to prepare Chettinad Mutton Biriyani?
In a thick bottommed pan add ghee, add garam masala powder, green chillies, curds, ginger garlic paste, mutton pieces, turmeric powder, tomatoes, mint leavesand coriander leaves. Saute for a minute and add rice.
Add coconut milk and salt to taste
Saute for 2 to 3 minutes and add enough water to cover the rice.
Add the ground coconut paste and mix well.
Cook on medium heat for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove from the stove and mix well.
Serve Chettinad Mutton Biriyani with onion raita.
