Kadachakka / Breadfruit Tomato Curry from Kerala

Ingredients needed for Kadachakka Thakkali Curry
1 Kadachakka / Breadfruit,  medium sized
2 tomatoes
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp coriander seeds
5-6 red chillies
1 /2 tsp peppercorns
2 cups grated fresh coconut
5 small onions
5 garlic flakes
Salt to taste

For tempering the Kadachakka Thakkali Curry
2 tsps oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
handful curry leaves
3 red chillies broken into bits

How to prepare Kadachakka Thakkali Curry?
Cut and clean Kadachakka in to cubes after removing the outer skin and inner parts.
Add quartered tomatoes  to the kadachakka pieces and cook till they are tender.
Now roast coriander seeds, red chillies and peppercorns to a golden colour and powder them.
Add the powder to the cooked kadachakka tomatoes mix with salt to taste.
Add enough water to cover the vegetables and cook till the masala powders blend nicely with the vegetables.
Heat oil in a pan, fry the grated coconut, small onions and garlic. Grind them to a smooth paste.
Add the coconut paste to the boiling gravy.
As the gravy starts to boil, remove from fire.
Heat oil, splutter mustard  seeds, red chillies and curry leaves.
