Idiappam Paneer Biryani


Ingredients needed for the Idiappam Paneer Biryani
50 grams Paneer, cut into small pieces
6 pieces leftover Idiappam
5 tbsps ghee
2 onions
4 green chillies
2 tsps ginger paste
2 tsps garlic paste
2 tomatoes chopped
2 tsps coriander powder
1 tsp chilli powder
Coriander leaves as required
Mint leaves
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp lime juice

How to prepare Idiappam Paneer Biryani?
Cut already cooked and left over idiappam in to small pieces.
Heat 2 tbsps of ghee i a fry pan, fry the idiappam pieces to a golden colour, remove  and keep aside.
Add the remaining ghee to the same pan, saute onions, green chillies till the onions are transparent.
Add ginger and garlic paste and fry well. Now add chopped tomatoes, chilli powder and coriander powder..
Add Paneer pieces, coriander leaves, mint leaves and the salt to taste.  Mix well.
Add the fried Idiappam pieces, lime juice and the garam masala powder. Mix well so that all the ingredients blend in together.
Serve hot with onion raita

Notes
If you do not have leftover idiappam and want to make this dish in a jiffy, you can prepare it from the ready made idiappams available over the counters .
You just have to soak the dried ones in the salted hot water for a minute or so, as mentioned in the packet, and drain off the excess water.
Leave it to cool for a few minutes or wash in cold water and drain.
Use it the way you would like to. 
You can also use left over chicken or mutton fry, scrambled eggs instead of paneer and prepare the Idiyappam biryani.
